From workshop to performance.
In 2018–2019, Apicco delivered a theatre education workshop for adult prisoners at Malandrino Prison, led by Giorgos Dampasis, Foivos Markianos and Sofia Ioannidi.
The workshop brought theatre into the prison setting, connecting education with a collective creative process. The programme concluded with a production entitled Oi Arithmimenoi, a free interpretation of the play by Elias Canetti, presented inside the prison in a performance open to the public.
The public performance enabled participants to share their work beyond the workshop group. This initiative forms part of Apicco’s experience in arts education for incarcerated adults and its work to support access to art and collective creation.
